INDEPENDENCE DAY

October 1st of every year since 1960 has been  a celebration galore in Nigeria. Here in Honeyland the 2021 Independence Day was  celebrated in a grand style. The students appeared in beautiful array of shades, designs and combinations of green and white with each holding the national flag as they match into the hall accompanied by the brilliant performance from the orchestra.

One of the main events of the day was the inter-class quiz which centres around the history of Nigeria. There was also the display of our heroes and heroines and their contributions to the independence, stability, peace and development of Nigeria.

Another important aspect aspect of the event was the long and heartfelt prayer for Nigeria especially about its peace and the 2023 elections.

The programme ended with the speech from selected students and staff to enlighten the audience about the challenges of Nigeria and the roles of individuals in the development of Nigeria.
